Using the candidate’s Social Security Number we are able to match the information they’ve provided with credit and public records to help confirm their identity and address history.
Understanding Valid, Invalid, and Randomized Social Security Numbers
When Social Security Number (SSN) Trace searches are conducted, we are able to obtain associated aliases, previous names and address history. We are also able to determine the status of the particular SSN that was provided.
A valid SSN means that it belongs to a living person.
An invalid SSN means that it belonged to a person who was deceased or that it is not assigned.
If you see that an SSN has been randomized, this means that there are no records under the Social Security Number, but doesn’t mean it is invalid. This result is common for ones that were recently issued, and for individuals who have not yet used their SSN for credit or banking purposes.
