Federal crimes are distinct in nature and a Federal Check is different than the National Criminal Records check which is included in a Basic Package. 

Crimes that are identified in a federal criminal record search include only those offenses that are federally prosecuted (violations of federal law as enforced by the FBI, DEA, ATF) as opposed to local and state law. 

Some examples of federal crimes are mail fraud, kidnapping, bank robbery, credit card fraud, identity theft, tax evasion, and counterfeiting. 

Federal criminal records are not available at the county or state level.

Current Federal District Check

Turn will conduct a Federal Criminal Records check in the district where the candidate currently resides. The address used is based on their input during the application process.

7 & 10-year Multi-District Federal Check

Using the address history that is found during the SSN Trace and Address History portion of the background check, we will search for records from each federal district where the candidate has resided in the past 7 or 10 years.
